Are Protection Dogs Worth Their Price?

17 February 2023

We are often asked if our dogs justify the high prices we charge. Tens of thousands of dollars may seem more than what many would be willing to spend on a pet, but our prices are a fair reflection of the product we offer. Those we work with are much more than just a pet, and represent some of the highest performing and most capable young dogs in the word. We source our dogs internationally,  only selecting the best puppies from reputable breeders we know well and trust.

The process of training a dog for family protection work takes months. Working off a strong foundation of bulletproof obedience and recall, we prioritise preparing our dogs for the real world and the settings and scenarios they are most likely to face. All our dogs spend time in home environments to prepare them for life as a family pet as well as realistic scenarios and bitework training. Our Elite and Director’s Dogs have the most rigorous and specialised training pipelines which can take close to two years, and is highly individualised to their owner’s needs and lifestyle.

Family protection dogs are not cheap, and the ultimate product of months or even years of dedication by a large team of highly skilled and experienced trainers. They also provide the highest levels of security assurance while proving themselves time and time again in very challenging scenarios. They are certainly worth their price, and while expensive, have provided the ultimate benefit of security and peace of mind to families living under real threat around the world.

Dogs are first recorded as having been used in warfare around approximately 600 BC, primarily in an offensive role. Ancient Greeks, Egyptians, Romans, Persians, Gauls, and Celts are all known to have used dogs in warfare, most commonly in “shock” tactics to

Which Dog Breeds Are Most Intelligent?

Dogs are perhaps the most inherently intelligent domesticated animals in human history. Intelligence is subjective and can be hard to define, but there are a number of ways that dogs’ cognitive abilities have been quantified or demonstrated. In 1994, Stanley Coren published his landmark book, “The Intelligence of Dogs”. Using surveys conducted with obedience competition judges, Coren examines what he refers to as “working and obedience intelligence”, namely a dog’s ability to
